2008 New Hampshire Governor's Conference on TourismThe 32nd Annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism, to be held May 5-7 at the Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, will be the event to attend for our industry this year.  For the first time, the conference’s program is the result of a collaborative effort of a diverse group of state-wide, tourism-oriented associations including the Travel Council, Lodging & Restaurant Association, and Ski New Hampshire, in addition to the NH Travel & Tourism Advisory Committee, the NH Division of Travel & Tourism, and the Governor’s Office.

    Why should you attend?

Marketing
: nationally-recognized speakers will give attendees a peek at tourism trends and practices in order to better prepare your business for the future. This will not be same ol’ same ol’ marketing advice! Listen to social media consultant Josh Hallett on the use of blogs for public relations, marketing, media, communication and branding. Roger Brooks has become one of the country’s most recognized experts in community and resort branding, consumer trends, marketing, and advertising, and will present “The New Age of Tourism.” This is good stuff!

Operations: Green business practices are not just good for the planet; they’re good for business, too. Join our General Session on Energy Management to Hedge Against Future Costs plus breakout sessions with practical advice on how to control your upcoming energy expenses.

Networking: Meal functions, a reception with the Governor, breakout sessions, and a newly-designed Marketplace all will provide opportunities to meet tourism and business leaders, new industry friends, potential marketing partners, and to gather information and ideas that could directly benefit your business.

Because you count! State tourism officials want your input which to help with the development of a new 10-year tourism plan that will be presented to the Governor for approval at the end of this year. Governor Lynch is also expected to meet with business and tourism leaders to discuss the State’s future tourism investment.

This year’s Governor’s Conference has been redesigned and formatted to maximize your time out of the office and to provide outstanding educational, marketing, and networking opportunities to a broad spectrum of our industry. Please plan to join us in Bretton Woods May 5-7th! For the complete schedule, or to register, please click here.
